TV and Film Extra Agencies in the UK
|
Until fairly recently working in the film extra industry has been a closed shop, and only equity members were allowed. This policy has quite rightly been thrown out at last, and assistant directors are now on the lookout for Fresh Faces to work as TV and Film extras in a variety of TV shows and feature films. Anyone can be a film extra, regardless of age, personality, shape, sex, or appearance. You are guaranteed to meet hundreds of people through this line of work, and a standard day of eight hours will earn you £80.00 (more if you change your clothes, play sport, get wet, or participate in dialogue, etc.). Overtime is at a rate of around £15.00 per hour (meals and travel expenses are also usually provided), and the agency fee is usually about 10% of your earnings. The major advantage with film extra work is that it is flexible you can do it full time or fit it around your existing job. It is just perfect for students to help pay off overdrafts and Egg cards during the waiting around periods you can study, read or simply check out everything thats going on around you. It also looks great on your CV always a talking point. Also you never know who your are going to meet. To subscribe to the online directory at Fresh Faces click here Online payment | ![]() |
